Isaac W. “Top” Dunn

Isaac W. “Top” Dunn, 80, of Rocky Hill died Feb. 25, 2010 at Monroe County Hospital.
Dunn was a lifelong resident of Rocky Hill. He was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He served in the US Air Force and was a radio maintenance technician. After retiring from the civil service, he worked as a school bus driver, a lawnmower repairman and as a maintenance man at Monroe Academy.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Dunn of Rocky Hill; a son, Wallace (Christi) Dunn of Monroeville; two daughters, Shelley (Jeff) Dunn of Stockton and Lee (Bradey) Johnson of Excel; two sisters, Lucille Timothy of Uriah and Maggie Gulsby of Montgomery; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Pete Dunn and Rev. Tim Boggs officiating. Burial followed in Dunn Cemetery in Rocky Hill.

Roman Marvin Jacobs

Roman Marvin Jacobs, 91, of Frisco City died Monday, March 1, 2010 at his home.
Jacobs was a native of Coffee County and had resided in Frisco City most of his life. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and had worked in the dyehouse for Vanity Fair Mills.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitch Jordan officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Charles Pugh “Chuck” Pelham

Charles Pugh “Chuck” Pelham, 82, of Monroeville died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010.
Pelham was a native of Dothan and had resided in Monroeville since 1950. He was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church and had served in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as an industrial engineer for Vanity Fair Mills for 42 years and retired as director of human resources.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Pelham of Monroeville; four daughters, Sharon (Lee) Weinman of Gardendale, Debbie (Sammy) Kinsey of Monroeville, Patti (Chuck) Knight of Spanish Fort and Linda (David) Carroll of Tuscaloosa; two step-children, Elizabeth Dawn (Sam) Crook of Repton and Jack Burton Mauldin of Bermuda; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Sandra Mayer and Rev. Glen Eubanks officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pineville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monroe County Health Foundation or the Monroeville YMCA.

Dr. Clarence Stanley Rowell Jr.
Johnson Funeral Home, Monroeville
Dr. Clarence Stanley Rowell Jr., 79, of Franklin died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at Monroe County Hospital.
Rowell was a native of Finchburg and had resided there most of his life. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Office of Special Investigations for 20 years, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a special investigations agent for 17 years and was a professor at Alabama Southern Community College where he taught government and Old and New Testament religion.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Rowell of Finchburg; one daughter, Lee Ann Kelley of Fairhope; four brothers, Ray Rowell of Franklin, Jim Rowell of Monroeville, Ben Rowell of Peterman and Richard Rowell of Finchburg; three sisters, Olla Dees and Myra Dees, both of Franklin and Julia Taylor of Mobile; one daugher-in-law, Donna Rowell of Ashville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 2 at 1 p.m. in Bryant Cemetery in Finchburg with Rev. Scott Allen and Rev. Tommy Lindsey officiating.

Geraldine Ward Wiggins
Johnson Funeral Home, Monroeville
Geraldine Ward Wiggins, 88, of Monroeville died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at Englewood Healthcare.
Wiggins was a native of Manistee and had resided in Monroeville most of her life. She was a member of the Monroeville First Baptist Church and had worked in the packing department at Vanity Fair Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Allen Wiggins.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Wiggins (Clarence) Alexander of Uriah; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 25 at 12 noon in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Eubanks officiating. Burial followed in Johnson Memorial Garden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
