Viola Wiggins Black, 90, of Herndon, Va. died Jan. 29, 2010 at Manor Care of Fairfax, Va.
Black was a native of Monroe County and lived most of her life in the county. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Marquette Bradley of Fairfax and Alfred J. Bradley of Perris, Calif.; one brother, Charlie J. Wiggins of Tunnel Springs; three sisters, Arstella Johnson of Merrillville, Ind., Ann Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Annabell Barnes of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Antioch #1 Baptist Church in Tunnel Springs with Rev. Whalen Oliver, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jerral Wayne Rigdon
Monroe Chapel, Frisco City
Jerral Wayne Rigdon, 49, of Peterman died Jan. 31, 2010 at his home.
Rigdon was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peterman where he served as deacon for 13 years. He was also a member of the Monroe Academy Athletic Club, the Parents Teacher Organization and the Parents Teacher Association. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 29 years as a lineman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Wayne Rigdon; his father, Homer Edwin Rigdon; his grandmother, Jamie Rigdon; and his grandparents, Elmer and Sarah E. Skipper.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Libbie) Helton Rigdon of Peterman; son, Tyler Jerral Rigdon of Peterman; daughter, Ashton Elizabeth Rigdon of Peterman; mother, Edna Earl Skipper Browning of Excel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Audrey Helton of Peterman; three brothers, Pat Browning of Jackson, Miss., Homer Edwin (Bubba) Rigdon Jr. of Thomaston, Ga. and Stoney Browning of Excel; and eight sisters, Cindy Browning, Sara Rigdon Bowden, Eloise Rigdon Webb and Paula Marie Browning, all of Monroeville, Sheryl Rigdon Wilson of Excel, Chris Rigdon Nadeau of Panama City, Fla., Kim Rigdon Bishop of Thomaston, Ga. and Louise Rigdon Harrison of Uriah.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Peterman with Rev. John Lott and Rev. David Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Rumbley Cemetery in Peterman.

Rosie Mae Stallworth

Rosie Mae Stallworth, 89, of Pensacola, Fla. died Jan. 27, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
Stallworth was a native of Monroe County and lived most of her life in the county. She was a domestic worker and a member of Sylvester Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, Willie James Stallworth of Pensacola, Johnny Stallworth of Humble, Texas, Thomas J. Stallworth of Tampa, Fla., Henry Stallworth and Oscar Stallworth, both of Houston, Texas and Alphonsa Stallworth of California; four daughters, Charlie Mae Clark of Tampa, Louise Gray of Biloxi, Miss., Georgia Boyd of Penascola and Tochane Stallworth of Junction City, Kan.; 32 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at Sylvester Baptist Church in Beatrice with Rev. Rudolph, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pineville Cemetery.
Sammie Lee Tunstall Sr.
Penn’s Funeral Home, Monroeville
Sammie Lee Tunstall Sr., 69, of Philadelphia, Pa. died Jan. 25, 2010 at his home.
Tunstall was a native of Finchburg and lived in Monroe County most of his life. He was a realtor and a former member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Finchburg.
Survivors include two sons, Sammie Lee Tunstall Jr. of Repton and David Dickerson of Foley; three daughters, Brenda L. Stallworth of Monroeville, Lela Tunstall of Mobile and Vickie Dixon of Foley; two brothers, Roscoe Tunstall of Foley and Hartford Tunstall; two sisters, Geraldine Williams of Pensacola, Fla. and Mary Johnson of Atmore; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. at Penn’s Funeral Home chapel with Rev. W.E. Hill officiating. Burial followed in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Finchburg.
