Panthers head to Uriah Thursday
Excel came away from a jamboree game at Millry with a 30-27 win, but the offensive line – a key in the Panther’s offensive scheme – is a little worse for wear, with several players batter and bruised and the anchor of the line out with a concussion.
The varsity squad played the first half, and went in down 21-14, and after the break both teams started working their junior varsity players onto the field.
Bowen said he saw progress in the team’s play, but there were still some things they didn’t do well.
“Offensively, we did very well,” Bowen said. “We ran just four or five plays out of our base, working on that aspect.”
Defense was a different story, however, with the Panthers still struggling to prevent the big play. MORE
